Senior Financial Analyst, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with data analytics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with compensation management tools (e.g., Anaplan, SAP, OIC, Xactly) and reporting.
  • Experience in utilizing SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze quantitative datasets.
  • Experience with spreadsheet and data analysis tools, with the ability to build financial models.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with knowledge of sales compensation plans and incentive programs.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee projects, apply project management methodologies, and ensure completion.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

The team develops groundbreaking cloud solutions, including Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace, to enable clients’ digital transformation.

The Cloud Go-To-Market Finance team ensures that Cloud Sales, Services and Marketing organizations make positive financial decisions. The team is an important partner and independent advisor to the Cloud commercial leaders by providing financial, analytical, and strategic insight.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize operational expenses for cloud sales compensation and incentive programs, analyze sales performance data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions on program design.
  • Become a subject matter expert in compensation systems and processes, and build an understanding of data sources for business growth, bookings, and payout rules.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, and Systems teams to ensure efficient program execution and coordination between systems and processes.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial cycles, including forecasting, accruals, and reporting, develop financial models for accurate expense forecasting and accrual management, provide data-driven recommendations to executives on business performance drivers, resource planning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Coordinate with Controllership, Payroll, and Sales Compensation teams for reconciliations and reporting, partner with Cloud Systems and Engineering to optimize processes, define requirements, and test new systems.
