Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in global operations teams working with multiple stakeholders in a Trust & Safety or tech environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Ability to solve unstructured business problems, working with cross-regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that confront the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a cross-product abuse analyst for Violent Extremism, you will be a part of a global team ensuring the seamless detection and enforcement of online harms (e.g. child sexual abuse materials, non-consensual intimate imagery, violent extremism). You will partner with policy, product, engineering, and legal to design and implement centralized operational solutions to fight abuse worldwide. You will lead a team of abuse experts that enforce, build, and oversee comprehensive strategies for the entire scaled anti-abuse enforcement workflow life-cycle.

You will partner with technical abuse-fighting experts to understand workflow, intake processes, prioritization, and develop a streamlined approach to increase efficiency, develop and streamline processes across set of products at scale, while implementing operating excellence.

This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content during the course of the role in line with Google's policies.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategies for review and enforcement of Violent Extremism global policy.
  • Overhaul existing federated processes into one central operations solution, cross-functional products and platforms.
  • Build policy knowledge and product expertise to develop and implement core strategies and iteratively improve enforcement operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across T&S and other cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, policy and legal.
