Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field.
  • Knowledge of regulations that directly or indirectly impact the ads industry.
  • Knowledge of the risk and compliance landscape and adjacent areas including risk assessment methodologies and internal control frameworks.
  • Ability to promote a healthy risk culture and enable change across business organizations.
  • Ability to understand and articulate ideas to highly technical teams, while maintaining attention to execution details.
  • Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

The Global Business Strategy and Operations team is responsible for providing insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO).

As a member of Ads Policy, Risk and Compliance, you will support strategic initiatives that safeguard Google’s ability to operate in an ads ecosystem, with new and at times fragmented laws and reporting requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for core risk management and compliance including assessment, reporting, remediation and governance. You will undertake efforts to make risk and compliance a competitive advantage for GBO, driving impact at scale across a global operation.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$234,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing, shaping, and maintaining the risk and compliance program on behalf of the Global Business Organization, coordinating across partnerships, sales, and support teams globally.
  • Collaborate with second line teams on control design, training and awareness initiatives and issue/incident management programs to ensure compliance with policy requirements.
  • Collaborate, influence, and build working relationships with cross-functional partners, senior executives, and second line teams.
  • Build and execute on a consistent approach to identifying and assessing risk.
  • Communicate findings and progress to senior leadership with executive-ready updates and thoughtful facilitation, and provide timely updates on urgent, business growth impacting issues as needed.
