Staff Hardware Engineer, Quality Systems, Raxium

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in leading Quality Management Systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leading a quality certification and internal quality audits.
  • Experience with International Quality Standards (ISO9001 etc.) and in managing compliance with these standards.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent professional certification and Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry in functional areas like Quality Management Systems and audits, product quality and supplier quality.
  • Experience with implementing electronic data management systems for document control.
  • Experience in quality systems for product development and in factory quality management.
  • Experience with driving and implementing structured problem solving and quality enhancement methodology including 8D/Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

About the job

As a Quality Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing the long-term vision and strategies for end-to-end hardware quality systems. This includes developing, implementing, and managing the Quality Management Systems (QMS), to meet customer and industry requirements. You will be the key point of contact with external registrars and third-party teams to co-ordinate audits. You will lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and continuous improvement objectives.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) that aligns with ISO 9001 requirements and integrates with the Raxium operations, including review and update of quality policies, procedures, and manuals. Develop key metrics and report on the performance of the QMS to management and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Development Engineering teams to implement the required quality systems, processes, and techniques.
  • Develop training programs to support the Quality Management System (QMS) processes, promoting strategies to prevent recurrence of issues and enhancing overall quality of processes.
  • Manage and perform Internal Audit programs, including execution of corrective actions identified, in accordance with ISO9001 and host third-party audits.
  • Identify, implement and manage the document control process, ensuring that electronic systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer, business and audit requirements.
