Technical Program Manager, Data Center Technology Systems

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in infrastructure program management.
  • Experience in end-to-end technical and product program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, especially data center facility and product designs.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and succeed at a fast pace of change.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Data Center Technology Solutions (DCTS) team is at the forefront of this transformation, driving innovation and efficiency across the design, engineering, manufacturing, and execution of these next-generation data centers.

As the cross-functional engine of DCTS, the Technical Program Management organization orchestrates the end-to-end execution of our technical transformation. We manage the full product lifecycle—from initial market intelligence and technology incubation through development, pilot, validation, and global technical insertion—partnering across all DCTS pillars to deliver innovative results. Beyond product delivery, this organization drives enterprise-wide process improvements to elevate the efficiency of DCTS and the broader Google Data Center organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Execute scope for end-to-end cross-functional product development of new products and programs, stretching to address undefined challenges with limited guidance.
  • Guide products through the end-to-end product lifecycle process, driving scope, schedule, cost, and resource management using existing processes.
  • Work closely with other disciplines and cross-functional teams to define and deliver on all product requirements documents .
  • Work with partner teams across data centers to execute successful product insertions, delivering innovative designs and working to establish a streamlined supply chain and reliable deployments that meet cost and turn-up schedule and delivery goals.
  • Lead project meetings, take minutes, provide status updates, manage project resources, budgets, schedules, contract scopes of work, risk management, and overall communications plans; Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations for defined programs, seeking guidance as needed and applying existing best practices to improve programs.
