Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects in the software engineering domain.
  • 10 years of experience leading software engineering.
  • 5 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or equivalent roles.
  • Experience with computer networking.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the relationship between the organization and its environment, with ability to identify connections, adopt different perspectives, and respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
  • Ability to adapt to changing specifications or standards, and create the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.

About the job

As part of the Google Cloud Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) team you will launch and take to market solutions that accelerate customers' success in the cloud. You will inspire the teams and establish trust among a diverse set of stakeholders and customers.

In this role, you will focus on the software services we build on the Google Cloud Platform. You'll manage teams of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner, set a strategy and direction, improve productivity and quality standards, resolve systemic problems, identify trends, and implement change.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set the idea and execution of organizational direction for broad, cross-organization projects across Google Cloud, including Cloud Networking, with additional initiatives that are in infrastructure.
  • Partner with senior leadership in Engineering and Product Managers to ensure Technical Program Management (TPM) alignment with business and organization priorities, and forecast resourcing requirements for Technical Program Management, while driving sub-linear scaling.
  • Lead and inspire an organization of Technical Program Managers drawn from several parts of the business, with a goal of driving alignment among Software Engineering and partner organizations spanning Google Cloud.
  • Build a scalable, and growth-oriented organization across multiple locations.
  • Lead other technical program management groups to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage OKRs, release on time, bring tooling efficiencies, and help teams in execution.
