Data Program Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or quantitative analysis related fields.
  • Experience in Programming and SQL.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience implementing Analytics and Reporting solutions like Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence as a Program Manager or Team Lead.
  • Experience leading programs where statistical and machine learning methods are applied to solve large-scale problems.
  • Experience building Business Intelligence solutions using SQL or a similar query language.
  • Experience in data governance and privacy.
  • Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and data architecture.
  • Ability to visualize business data and metrics through dashboards or other reporting tools.

About the job

At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. As part of the Finance Business Intelligence team, you will use data to inform business and product decisions across the company. Using your technical skills, business acumen and creativity, you will build tools to automate reporting and generate insight that will allow clients to quickly and accurately see how our key business products and processes are performing. Previous experience managing finance systems projects, with emphasis on providing business intelligence and data driven insight through reporting, will have equipped you well for this role. You’ll be involved in projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that your reporting delivers high-quality and relevant data to intelligently grow our business. You will also have extensive knowledge of key financial systems, such as Oracle and Hyperion, and experience working with a range of other business intelligence tools and platforms.

In this role, you will drive programs that empower Finance with data and AI by delivering insights, optimizing financial processes, and driving innovation. You will be responsible for understanding and evolving the data landscape, driving automation, providing central solutions to address common needs across Google Finance teams and ensuring finance data is trusted and secured.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage data projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with Finance DnA's goals and objectives; Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Engineering, and Business teams, to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, agile roadmaps, track progress, and identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  • Partner with BI analysts and data scientists to build data solutions, including single sources of truth. Maintain development practices in technical design, solution development, systems configuration, testing, issue resolution, and the creation of clean, modular, and self-sustaining code.
  • Facilitate communication and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project life-cycle. Monitor project outcomes and measure the success of data initiatives through user feedback and product metrics.
  • Define data standards, enhance data quality, and streamline access controls. Drive data management best practices, including privacy, across Finance.
