Product Cost Manager, Hardware

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience with supply chain operations, sourcing/commodity management, or contract manufacturing.
  • Experience building cost models, analyzing cost trends, and assessing opportunities and risk for new or early-stage product development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Science, MBA, or other advanced degree.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain.
  • Experience with design and engineering field in consumer electronics hardware development, and with complex projects and changing priorities.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment, and to create supply solutions to optimize cost.
  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, and influence stakeholders or present to multiple audiences.
  • Excellent communication, excel and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Product Cost Manager lead and Single Source of Truth (SSoT) for cost, assigned product family, and deliver financially health products.
  • Oversee the development and tracking of accurate product level cost models from inception/concept design stages and through entire product lifecycle.
  • Utilize industry knowledge, analytics, competitive industry data and other inputs to identify cost inefficiencies and opportunities to identify realistic and challenging cost targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify negotiation, design, feature and operational cost opportunities and track through to execution.
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative cost information. Build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale.
