Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust & Safety, cybersecurity, technology research, anti-abuse, policy, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications:
- JD, MBA or Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with training or developing large language models or working in close partnerships with teams who do.
- Experience with development or maintenance of policy and identifying associated risks.
- Experience working with data analytics tools, SQL, etc.
- Experience answering strategic questions and influencing senior stakeholders on strategic direction, with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives with high levels of responsibility and independence.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. As a capabilities analyst within the T&S Emerging AI Strategy team, you will work to scope the risks and opportunities associated with novel or emerging AI capabilities, and help design strategies to enable Google and its users to leverage these capabilities helpfully and responsibly. You will do so as part of a highly-motivated, collaborative team, working with groups across the company to analyze how products impact users and broader society, and leveraging data to provide solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional partner teams across Google (e.g., Product, Legal, UX, Operations, Research, and Engineering teams), to address these challenging problems and ensure user trust in Google and our products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Assemble and drive cross-functional working groups to analyze the implications of novel capabilities and deliver related strategies.
- Provide expert guidance to cross-functional working groups and partner teams to develop best practices and actionable solutions.
- Develop and consistently update your knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of AI systems and their technical, product, and responsibility-related implications.
- Collaborate closely with a wide-range of stakeholders including engineers, product managers, researchers, public policy, and attorneys.
