Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in 3GPP wireless (e.g., WCDMA, LTE, NR), including PHY/upper layers 5G modem log analysis.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.
- 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience with physical/upper layers 4G modem log analysis to identify performance/KPI gaps.
- Experience with 3GPP physical layer, L2, L3, NAS specification.
- Experience summarizing log findings for follow up discussion with cross-functional teams.
- Experience programming in Python and development.

In this role, you will build the next generation cellular modem software/firmware for Pixel phone, tablet, and devices. You will work on technologies, such as 4G/5G across protocol stacks and enable Android ecosystem development.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Be the technical lead for driving/planning of aimed field activities to help identify and analyze performance gaps.
- Analyze field logs and issues from both the performance and user experience perspective.
- Work with engineers in the field and travel or visit fields to help field campaigns as needed.
- Work cross-functionally with other organizations (e.g., modem systems, modem software, radio frequency, upper layers) to discuss potential issues.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) differences with respect to reference devices.
