Strategic Initiatives Lead, Go-To-Market

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory, or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience analyzing ideas, drawing conclusions, and presenting them to senior leadership and colleagues.
  • Experience with data collation/manipulation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience setting strategy and leading work-streams in the digital ad sales or marketing space.
  • Experience advising, partnering, and influencing senior executives, and leading initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment, with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Ability to perform with increasing levels of responsibility/independence.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

About the job

The Commercial Strategy and Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. The team is focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and helping evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

The team focuses on strategic transformational work versus incremental change, as well as on the design and execution stage of strategy, leveraging existing functional experts to drive business unit operations.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a strategic partner to Large Customer Sales and act as the bridge of communications between internal cross-functional stakeholders in order to stay focused on customer needs.
  • Lead priority strategic initiatives to drive future growth, partnering with leadership, and communicating results and plans to executive staff.
  • Work with regional and global teams to identify opportunities for future growth and create and implement plans to achieve it, working with Sales and cross-functional leaders.
