Director, Global Logistics Organization, Americas, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in warehouse or data center operations management, including third-party lab (3PL) supplier management, warehouse/fulfillment management, warehouse automation and MRP, WMS, and TMS systems.
  • Experience in team leadership, managing remote teams, suppliers, or projects, and in trade and compliance.
  • Experience optimizing end to end order management and critical services levels.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain.
  • Six Sigma or Total Quality Management or other professional certification.

Cloud Supply Chain Operations (CSCO) provides Alphabet a competitive advantage by delivering capacity at extraordinary speed, scale and efficiency. We plan, introduce new products, source, build, deliver, and return. We are responsible for Supply Chain Planning, Global Commodity Management, Global Manufacturing, New Product Introduction, Product Lifecycle Management, Global Logistics, Program Management, Supply Chain Responsibility, and Supply Chain BizOps.

As the Director of Logistics, Americas, you will be responsible for logistics fulfillment activities across the Americas. Areas for leadership and operational excellence includes warehousing, trade and compliance, safety, security, spend management, inventory management, supporting warehouse automation, continuous improvement and orchestrating operational excellence across our extensive and complex 3PL network in North America and South America.

The primary internal Google customers for the Global Logistics Organization are Technical Infrastructure (TI) and Cloud Supply Chain Operations (CSCO). GLO partners closely with the TI/CSCO organization to provide warehousing, trade compliance and transportation activities that support the build out of Google’s global compute capacity for Alphabet.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$345,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for all region logistics activities across operations, including leadership and continuous improvement for all warehousing, receiving, shipping, serviceability to manufacturing, and inventory management.
  • Support warehouse automation, Warehouse Management System, Transportation Management Systems, robotics, etc.  
  • Ensure safety, security and quality program management for all warehousing, and trade and compliance execution for import and export processes.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier management through an extensive complex global 3PL network across the Americas. Optimize operations within the Americas  (i.e., inbound, warehousing, outbound) by enabling best practices on planning and execution for fulfillment needs.
  • Drive transportation execution for in region movements for Ground, Air and Ocean, and ensure the right metrics are driving the right results for Logistics in serving our stakeholders with speed, efficiency, scale and sustainability.
