Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working with senior leaders in the public sector, including experience in program or project management, specifically driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience in research and in distilling information into executive-level briefings and reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience navigating highly confidential and evolving projects where the path forward is not always defined.
  • Experience managing complex schedules, milestones, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and synthesizing insights for executive consumption (e.g., using spreadsheets, slides/decks).
  • Familiarity with global markets and the operational nuances of managing international engagements for C-suite leadership.
  • Ability to navigate highly ambiguous environments and distill complex, undefined problems into clear, executable next steps.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to to effectively work and collaborate with cross-functional teams across global time zones.

As a key contributor to driving this critical work forward for Alphabet and Google, the President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is responsible for the Company’s corporate investments and investment vehicles, including GV and CapG, the Other Bets investment portfolio, Real Estate and Workplace Services, and other company infrastructure. The President and CIO regularly engage with policymakers and regulators about the company’s business and impact across markets related to economic growth, job creation, and opportunity. The President and CIO also oversees the company's philanthropic efforts, including work to expand access to digital infrastructure, and support education and workforce development initiatives globally.

Within the Office of the President and CIO, the Global Engagement team drives high-priority, complex initiatives and manages critical global engagements for Alphabet's leadership. This team ensures seamless operational execution and strategic alignment across Alphabet's critical external commitments, internal cross-functional programs, and confidential strategic projects. We act as the central nervous system for the CIO’s priorities, ensuring that high-priority initiatives are measurably executed and aligned with Alphabet’s long-term global outlook.

As a member of the President and CIO’s Global Engagement team, you will be responsible for supporting the flow, quality, and integrity of critical written materials, briefing docs, and correspondence for the President and CIO. You will ensure written materials are precise, accurate, and present a holistic picture, primarily focused on the President and CIOs public public policy engagements.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $96,000-$138,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the flow, quality, and integrity of written materials that are developed for the President and Chief Investment Officer. Manage the intake and review of critical briefing materials, written follow-up, and tracking the life cycle of materials from “draft” to “signed off.”
  • Conduct public policy research and synthesize cross-company inputs, including historical context and talking points to develop narratives and briefing notes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Audit materials for accuracy, clarity, and brevity, ensuring consistency while identifying gaps or inconsistencies in data, tone, or narrative to provide a complete picture.
  • Collaborate across the Global Engagement team and with cross-functional partners, primarily around public policy engagements, and secondarily private sector and civil society engagements, to deliver clear updates on relevant developments (e.g., policy or company-specific).
