Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with Machine Learning infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in large scale, distributed infrastructure.
  • Experience driving large efficiency efforts.
  • Familiarity with programming (e.g., Python, SQL, etc.) and one or more scripting or SQL-like language, with strong technical aptitude.
  • Excellent spreadsheet modeling and data analysis skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Machine Learning (ML) Resource Engineering are stewards of about half of Google's ML accelerator fleet that serve our clients, anchored by the Search, Core, Labs and other product areas. In this role, you will require a mix of technical and project management skills, combination of stewardship and advocacy role and advocate the resource needs of the product area while ensuring that overall Google's assets are being utilized in the most efficient and priority-aligned manner.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with product area partners to understand their GPU/TPU needs and provide them a guided resource management experience.
  • Work with software engineering and Site Reliability Engineering to discover efficiency opportunities in the existing resource footprints we manage.
  • Invest in making personal contributions to improving our processes and tools, as well as partnering with other teams to drive scale-up through automation.
  • Drive analysis and metrics to constantly improve our ability to maximize our business value from the resources available.
