Compute Architecture and Power Modeling Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a hardware and firmware design technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of industry experience in system architecture of multimedia systems, such as GPUs, Video Codecs, or related areas.
  • Experience with optimizing models for serving/inference in production use cases.
  • Experience with either vision, imaging, AR/VR, algorithms, or language models.
  • Experience implementing, modeling, analyzing, and testing algorithms to enable compelling AR/VR use cases.
  • Experience in Scripting, Perfetto analysis and Silicon Power measurements.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. Responsibilities

  • Define and own dataflows for CUJs and collaborate with App software, Firmware, PM and UX stakeholders to define and own system requirements for CUJs.
  • Use system-level modeling tools to model power and performance for dataflows and ensure correlation of models.
  • Participate in enhancing system-level modeling tools to be able to model new scenarios.
  • Use profiling tools on Silicon (power and performance) and use the results and knowledge of workloads to create new models.
  • Ensure system modeling provides guidance back to product requests and design choices by software and hardware teams and also provides guidance to partners on their roadmap.
