Senior Technical Program Manager, Alphabet Use of Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical program management, managing cross-functional programs within infrastructure, security, or cloud-native environments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading large-scale programs involving public cloud infrastructure and knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity technical domain.
  • Experience delivering security solutions and managing large-scale programs.
  • Track record of managing organizational change and resolving high-friction stakeholder dynamics at the leadership level.
  • Ability to drive the steering committee and cross-functional team meetings to deliver technical solutions while mitigating risks and resolving issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions with solutions oriented.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, conflict/resolution management, and active listening skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will lead one of Google’s most critical initiatives ensuring Google’s use of public cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP)) is safe and aligns with Google’s security practices. You will work closely with Security Engineering and Software Engineering teams and ensure ongoing alignment in service of the overall security and business goals.

In this role, you will require sound judgment under pressure, a strong technical background, meticulous attention to detail and outstanding communication skills. You will coordinate between many stakeholders, set expectations for deliverables from many different teams, keep track of success of parallel efforts, identify key roadblocks and work with the team members involved to keep things moving. You will be the owner of large security programs and ultimately responsible for their success.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between Security and Engineering leadership and teams to align goals, define shared success metrics, and resolve scope ambiguities.
  • Lead the execution of AUC (Alphabet Use of Cloud) program, ensuring Google’s internal use of public clouds meets Google’s security standards without sacrificing developer velocity.
  • Navigate organizational and team dynamics by building high-trust relationships with key stakeholders and fostering a culture of radical transparency.
  • Establish frameworks for tracking program health and managing risks and issues use data to depersonalize conflicts and drive rational, objective decision-making.
  • Deliver high-signal updates to a broad array of stakeholders (including VP-level executives), translating complex technical risks and engineering milestones into clear, actionable business and risk narratives.
