Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 9 years of experience architecting and implementing networks for high-bandwidth applications, with focus on video streaming.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting video streaming systems, including acquisition infrastructure and transport strategies.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience managing and implementing infrastructure build-outs and cloud migrations.
- Experience automating the deployment of scaled network configuration workflows.
- Experience in the video streaming industry with a specialization in video transport.
- Experience designing and implementing live media workflows and delivery architecture.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams.
- Ability to manage deadlines and deliver under time constraints.
About the job
The over-the-top (OTT) Engineering team's mission is to deliver a future-proof video streaming platform, by building and integrating tools and services to support the most reliable and resilient signal acquisition, workflow optimization, and highest quality media delivery.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally across YouTube with various technical and business teams. You will be supporting all aspects of OTT focused on content ingestion and processing, with the goal of building the next iteration of YouTube OTT's ingestion infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide integration assistance and support of network and software buildouts for a globally scaled live streaming platform.
- Partner closely with content companies, third-party aggregators and various software vendors to ingest premium live content to YouTube. Automate existing manual onboarding processes and assist in developing a comprehensive tooling strategy.
- Develop new metrics and expand upon existing metrics used to benchmark stream quality and reliability.
- Partner with software engineering teams to build and deploy scalable software to ingest, process, monitor and distribute media content and metadata.
