Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- Experience with advanced AI/ML concepts, including large language models (LLMs) research and products.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree in a relevant technical or business field.
- Experience with model and agent evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with products geared toward a technical user base.
- Experience evaluating the applications, risks, and benefits of new technologies.
- Ability to communicate with impact, fostering a collaborative environment that inspires and motivates cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
About the job
As a Product Manager on the Science team, you will work directly with research scientists and cross-functional product development teams to develop artificial intelligence (AI) systems aimed at transformatively accelerating science. In this role, you will help shape our approach to developing, shipping, and identifying high-impact applications for science agents. You will play a critical role in building and applying new agentic systems, bridging frontier research with real-world scientific issues. This role sits at the intersection of research and product, and requires technical depth and curiosity, insight, ability to navigate ambiguity, and a direct approach.Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. Responsibilities
- Advocate for the user and become a domain expert (e.g., familiarity with science tools and their technical foundations, capabilities, and limitations).
- Build prototypes and partner with teams across Google to land our research in scaled products and partner with research teams to improve the way we measure and hill climb quality.
- Identify nascent research that could become transformative products.
- Flex to other initiatives in science as needed.
- Identify impactful applications of flagship agents to new scientific domains and help incubate new agentic capabilities to assist with real-world scientific workflows.
