Senior Program Manager, Process Excellence

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program or project management, or managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading and completing global process design or process improvement projects.
  • Experience with design thinking, change management and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with creating and analyzing critical user journey maps and conducting statistical analyses of process performance.
  • Black Belt or Master Black Belt level knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Ability to gather customer requirements, define process measures, identify root causes, design process improvements, and measure project outcomes.
  • Ability to discern when to employ structured problem-solving methodologies and when to adapt them to unique situations.

The People Operations (POps) Process Excellence Team is a group of trusted experts, sought out for their ability to disentangle process complexity, bring people together, and deliver meaningful outcomes. The team helps People Operations services get better faster by focusing improvement efforts on what will drive the greatest impact. They bring proven process design methods to People Operations through direct support of project teams, coaching project leaders, and spreading best practices via training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or collaborate on cross-functional, global programs, focused primarily on business process improvement, process design, process management, and the change management necessary to drive adoption of new practices.
  • Manage relationships with clients in People Operations and partner engineering teams to understand and assess their unique challenges and to build advisory relationships.
  • Collect and document business requirements and partner with engineering teams to translate them into system requirements. Write project charters, problem statements, and business cases.
  • Establish meaningful process measures, determine root causes, identify meaningful improvements and drive change management to ensure new processes/technology lands well with Googlers and People Operations teams.
  • Create and deliver effective presentations and written communications to keep stakeholders informed and educated on complex business change initiatives.
