Technical Solutions Consultant, Android Auto

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in system design or in one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently in order to communicate in this customer-facing sales role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working with Unix or Linux operating systems/commands.
  • 5 years of experience in operations management (i.e., process improvement, operational reviews, optimizing workflows, etc).
  • 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in leading complex technical projects with automotive industry partners or related industry partners.
  • Experience with Android application or Android device development.

About the job

As a Technical Solutions Consultant for Android Auto, you will manage technical partnerships with Automotive industry clients, integrating Android Auto into connected cars. You will provide technical expertise in creating devices with Android Auto and insight into software for in-car experiences. You will be a trusted advisor to Google’s Product and Engineering teams and Automotive industry partners car manufacturers, supplier ecosystem, System on a Chip (SoC) providers and work together to build infotainment and driver assistance systems. You will guide planning, implementation, and certification of Android Auto devices. You will also support and lead internal initiatives to transform team operations and improve our products and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders in customer or partner organizations to deliver or manage quality technical solutions and services.
  • Verify the functionality of a developer product feature and provide meaningful feedback to product/engineering teams that result in improvements to the developer experience. 
  • Create Product requirement documents (PRDs) to record product specifications, validate PRDs to ensure customer/partner and internal needs are met, with limited guidance. 
  • Help scale existing or create repeatable solutions (e.g., best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code) and ensure effective documentation of repeatable solutions with minimal guidance. 
  • Help write solution code in collaboration with internal or external developers, users, partners, clients, and stakeholders as needed.
