  • 6 years of experience working in the Display industry, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.

  • PhD degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in the consumer design industry related to design and manufacturing.
  • Experience in reliability and failure analysis.
  • Experience in Mobile Display (e.g., phone, tablet, laptop, watch).

As a Display Module Lead, you lead hardware projects from concept to production. You will solve system design problems, collaborate across teams, and mentor engineers. You will be a technical expert in hardware engineering and a go-to person for your team.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and approve activities related to hardware design, architecture, technology, and development for a high product or system. Demonstrate expertise in accurately predicting consequences of hardware design decisions in cross-functional trade-off discussions. Optimize hardware performance priorities while balancing mechanical, optical, electrical, cost, and cross-functional considerations.
  • Assign and approve design review criteria. Track and assign team members to resolve hardware issues. Recognize and escalate hardware performance issues that impact the development schedule. Drive design and process improvement efforts.
  • Identify and resolve flaws and issues with hardware components. Address hardware failures by implementing corrective solutions.
  • Evaluate hardware design feasibility based on product requirements. Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to develop the hardware project roadmap.
