- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory experience, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, graduate degree, or related experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field.
- 10 years of leadership experience across general management, sales operations, commercial roles, consulting, or corporate strategy.
- 5 years of experience working with and influencing senior-level executives.
- Business and sales experience including accountability for results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex strategic and operational initiatives involving multiple teams, ensuring alignment, communication, and successful execution.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a team of Go-To-Market strategy professionals.
About the job
This team is responsible for setting Go-To-Market strategy, shaping priorities/resources to accelerate business growth, and commercializing the next generation of Ads products (from representing the customer, advocating for product requirements, to ensuring teams are equipped to drive customer growth, product adoption, and revenue health at scale). This team plays an important role in building excellent GTM infrastructure from tooling, to enhancing GBOers business skills, to ensuring flawless execution and operations against desired business outcomes and priorities. GTM has teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas and in global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of getting things done.
As the Head of Strategic design you will lead new areas of design within the newly formed Global Commercial Enablement GTM team. You will be responsible for scoping new ways to bring product to market through design of sales incentives, systems, and partnerships. This leadership role will require that you translate complex business priorities and product strategy into actionable operational frameworks, empowering cross-functional teams for execution. You will work closely with GTM and Sales executives to take concepts into action, helping to drive decisions among GBO leadership.
The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead the team responsible for developing GBO's "activation engine" - comprising a universal product taxonomy, prioritization of ads products and sales motions, and the application of activation levers (e.g., sales collateral, training, tools).
- Drive a transformation agenda and roadmap to improve GBO activation levers via bundling, automation, and other initiatives.
- Own decision-making and execution for large, cross-functional projects and deliverables related to sales activation strategy and design.
- Influence senior leadership across Go-To-Market, global product solutions, sales and product management on sales activation strategy by delivering executive-ready insights and thoughtful facilitation.
- Orchestrate impactful cross-functional activation plans and build durable, scalable processes to support alignment, execution, and continuous improvement.
