Senior Product Manager, Flow Music, Google Labs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep technical intuition and extensive experience building or driving strategy for AI-powered products.
  • Track record of conceptualizing, shipping, and incubating innovative AI native consumer or creative products.
  • Exceptional product (and Musical!) taste and possess a well-honed instinct for what makes a product simple, intuitive, and delightful.
  • Builder Mentality building things with AI just for the joy of exploring.
  • Clarity in Chaos by growing in highly ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Flow Music empowers the musician in all of us. We help our users craft, refine and share music they are proud of. The core of our product is an intelligent, agentic partner that collaborates with users to create songs, playlists, music videos, novel instruments, and new musical worlds. We sit at the intersection of frontier generative audio models, intuitive UX design, and the raw joy of the creative process. Flow Music is a new part of the Flow family, and marks the beginning of a new Google product line for creativity. We're building creative tools with the artists that are most eager to adopt these new capabilities. Our mission is to keep users in the flow state.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advocate for the creative act, ensuring every feature launch prioritizes the integrity of the musical journey.
  • Scale AI Innovation by partnering with research and engineering to translate breakthrough Generative AI models into production-ready features, maintaining technical excellence at Google’s global scale.
  • Define premium UX standards by leading the end-to-end product design lifecycle, applying exceptional taste to transform complex AI backends into intuitive, interfaces for professional and aspiring musicians.
  • Execute with velocity by driving the hustle-first product roadmap, identifying market gaps and navigating technical trade-offs to ship iterative improvements in a fast-moving, engaged landscape.
  • Foster high-performance culture centered on technical humility and collective problem-solving.
