- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, business affairs, legal or content acquisition/distribution within media, entertainment, or legal industries.
- Experience negotiating agreements and collaborating cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing affiliate partnerships and identifying new business opportunities.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or other advanced degree.
- Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
- Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
- Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
- Ability to structure, analyze, and solve complex business problems, as well as deliver impact against concrete business goals.
- Excellent communication, and presentation skills with the ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment.
About the job
The mission of the Media Partners team is to make YouTube the essential platform for viewers by enabling content experiences and for entertainment partners by driving meaningful business and distribution. We are responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing distribution agreement with media and entertainment companies for YouTube’s subscription video businesses, while reinforcing the power of ad-supported content across YouTube’s multiple formats and platforms to fuel those partners’ core businesses.
As a Media and Local Partnerships Lead, YouTube TV, you will be responsible to develop agreement strategy, manage partnerships and lead negotiations with YouTube’s local partners for carriage of their linear channels on YouTube TV, our streaming pay-TV offering. You will work closely with YouTube’s other lines of business and cross-functional partners including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, Operations and Legal teams to resolve complex business issues, develop business strategies, inform product goal, and operationalize our plans through optimal agreement structures.
In this role, you will lead the negotiation process, working directly with legal in the agreement drafting and review process and driving toward consensus on complex issues, while also converting YouTube and YouTube TV as a platform for content partners to build large audiences. You will understand the value of local content and complex and evolving ecosystems. You will work with cross-functional teams to creatively problem solve, manage new feature launches and identify opportunities to grow the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Negotiate distribution agreements with linear local and affiliate partners for distribution on YouTube TV.
- Participate in all aspects of new business development, including evaluating potential partners within the media and entertainment industry through content analysis, market demand/appeal, positioning agreement sourcing, financial analysis and modeling, term sheet drafting, long-form drafting, agreement negotiation and closing.
- Collaborate with key teams across YouTube and Google to ensure strong execution.
- Work cross-functionally to engage marketing, sales, product partnerships, product, engineering and other cross-functional and cross-Google teams on large projects that drive the YouTube TV business.
- Contribute to the refinement of YouTube’s strategy, prepare communications documents, including presentations for management and to the broader organization.
