Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management.
- Experience managing carrier testing and certification processes, including defining test strategies and resolving technical issues with cross-functional hardware and software teams.
- Experience in wireless communications and Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) global standards.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in system level, for RF performance, to protocol and IP/IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) layers.
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in troubleshooting issues that may occur in certification and test equipment log analysis.
- Knowledge of standards, testing and certification protocols and RF requirements for wireless products.
- Ability to do log analysis for commonly used chipset for 5G, 4G LTE and more.
- Ability to enable technical discussions with customer SMEs in all these areas.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

The Pixel carrier certification Technical Program Manager (TPM) team is responsible for certifying Pixel products for all the carriers. Our team focuses on lab testing which includes Global Certification Forum (GCF)/PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB), carrier specific testing and industry certification such as Bluetooth (BT) and NFC.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Direct project lifecycles by triaging testing workstreams and synchronizing technical communications across departments to mitigate risks and resolve bottlenecks.
- Lead the in market NPI/in market projects for all major US carriers for smartphones and other cellular capable wireless devices.
- Guide third-party labs to ensure top quality and on-time delivery of the certification deliverables for Pixel projects.
- Work with Technical Account Manager (TAM) to negotiate with the carrier customer on test scope and certification requirements. Act as Internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Pixel products certification for major carriers in North American and other regions.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as modem software, antenna/RF, Engineering Program Managers (EPMs), TAMs, Software Program Managers (SWPMs), and Quality Management Center (QMC).
