Security Risk Mitigation Specialist

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience defining and implementing security and resilience programs and strategies.
  • 4 years of experience controlling security risks, and developing methods to reduce or mitigate these threats.
  • 2 years of experience in project management, including identifying issues, developing recommendations, and implementing solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in PSP, CPP, or other relevant security certifications.
  • Experience as an instructor/trainer for CAD and 3D design tools.
  • Experience in law enforcement, military, or security consulting.
  • Proficiency in risk management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to take initiative, stay motivated, and able to work seperately and as part of a team.

About the job

In this role, you will seek to make Alphabets people, products and properties as safe and secure as possible. You will conduct comprehensive qualitative assessments, in effort to identify any areas of risk concern and potential process improvements specific to people, product and properties. You will be dedicated to conducting on-the-ground assessments that identify and mitigate potential threats, vulnerabilities and risk.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in the conduct of threat, vulnerability risk assessments (TVRA).
  • Communicate complex risk information and compliance requirements in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with risk owners and security managers on the development and implementation of effective controls to mitigate unacceptable risks. Monitor the effectiveness of deployed controls.
  • Stay abreast of emerging operational security threats, physical security best practices, risk mitigation strategies and evolving security regulations
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management policies, procedures and operational security standards to meet regulatory requirements.
