About the job

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The Enterprise Infrastructure Protection team enables Googlers to build great services and run the company on a secure foundation. We build resilient services and platforms that make the job of an attacker as hard as possible.

Within the Platform Security team, we protect user data as our first priority by preventing successful attacks on Googlers and the systems they use. We are doing this on the frontline of our battle with our adversaries: Googler laptops, desktops, cloud instances, and mobile devices. We harden the platforms used, measure the machine’s state and assign a level of trust through these measurements.

Users are consistently targeted as the first point of entry for attackers and we want to ensure that their systems are well outfitted with effective tools and controls to prevent and detect these attacks. We also hold an obligation to keep our users happy and productive, so, while the most secure device would be disconnected and off in a secure room, we must strike the right balance between security and usability for our users. Our work often integrates into the core infrastructure used to manage our fleet, which means that the impact of our work is better security for users and devices.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
