Technical Program Manager, Google Play

  • Experience ensuring proper prioritization and cross-team alignment.
  • Experience in communicating status to relevant stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Executive Program Managers, Engineering, and UX leads on the development of multi-year goals and strategies.
  • Manage schedules, scope projects, foster collaborative team dynamics, anticipate and mitigate risks, and manage cross-functional team dependencies.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
