About the job

We own the Compute infrastructure Admission Controller under the Compute infrastructure Control Plane team. We are responsible for all product-related needs across shared fleet, ML fleet and Google Compute Engine (GCE) fleet, including a consistent and delightful end-to-end user experience, efficiency, and reliability.

Our system is continuously evolving and we are at the core of compute at Google. Some of the main issues ahead of us include: scale growth as Google, especially machine learning (ML) grows, so does the demand for computing resources, requiring approaches to continue scaling our infrastructure. Our team aims for great products for users to use compute infrastructure resources effectively. Our team invests heavily in efforts to most efficiently utilize resources in both the shared and ML fleet, ranging from new scheduling optimizations to new semantics and compute product definitions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, implementation and productionization features in and support functionality at the physical Compute infrastructure cell level, or across cells.
  • Communicate with partners across Alphabet to gather requirements and drive adoption efforts.
  • Evaluate technical data, develop recommendations, and resolve advanced technical issues.
  • Work with other groups on project-wide efforts
    and provide technical leadership for small projects of moderate complexity and impact for Google, including coordinating project priorities.
