Architecture Manager, Google Cloud (English, Spanish)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in cloud-native architecture, technology modernization, or integration platforms, and in customer-facing support roles.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • Leadership experience (e.g., people management, team lead, mentorship, coaching).
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to support stakeholders in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with software life-cycles, building tools, and architecting/developing software for scalable, distributed systems (e.g., data platform, AI/ML, infrastructure).
  • Experience as a pre-sales manager or technical customer-facing people manager within a professional services or sales engineering team.
  • Experience managing a team through pre-sales processes and career development (e.g., account mapping, quota setting, performance management, managing sensitive information).
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders/executive leaders (e.g., delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, leading conversations that drive accelerated value realization and business opportunity).
  • Experience driving delivery and consumption plans for complex, cross-pillar cloud solutions.

About the job

As an Architecture Manager within the Customer Engineering organization, you will lead and coach a team of Principal Architects. Your focus will be on team strategy and professional development, empowering your architects to build trusted advisory relationships with strategic accounts. You will be responsible for managing team performance and ensuring the team effectively engages with CxOs to identify customer priorities and deliver significant business value.

You will direct the execution of the team by providing a clear technical goal and business insight, ensuring they operate as executive hybrid technical and business advisors. As a manager, you are responsible for the team's success, aligning individual goals with Google Cloud's objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will partner with cross-functional leadership to ensure team of Principal Architects accurately articulates the total value of technical solutions and strengthens the overall business partnership with Google Cloud.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business management to determine proper staffing levels to support annual goals and help build the team.
  • Partner with strategic accounts’ leadership to identify initiatives which leverage technology.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, and identify customer’s priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem to deliver business value and resolve blockers.
  • Manage the holistic Enterprise Architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, engineering, and others.
  • Provide recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
