Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience with the Greenhouse Gas (GHS) Protocol and methodologies (e.g., Economic Input-Output, Life cycle assessment (LCA), etc).
- Experience in greenhouse gas accounting, life cycle assessment, or environmental metrics accounting.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience with three accounting methodologies: data collection, analysis, and assurance.
- Experience with data, analysis and operational details to glean insights and take effective action.
- Experience in environmental metrics accounting (GHG, water, waste) and developing corporate inventories.
- Experience with greenhouse gas data infrastructure solutions and tools.
- Ability to collaborate, organize, and align towards execution.

In this role, you will act as an expert for Footprinting and Accounting in the Sustainability Functional Area. Through meticulous measurement and analysis, you will quantify Google's corporate and product footprints, generating actionable insights that shape strategic directions, enhance performance against the goals, and support transparency through external disclosures.
The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs effectively. Independently maintain project trackers and status reports. Identify and execute on program tasks including proactively manage dependencies.
- Support Google’s annual corporate environmental metric accounting program, including greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint, water footprint, or other relevant sustainability metrics.
- Support process and controls development and implementation, including maintaining rigorous documentation and annual third-party assurance.
- Interpret the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and other relevant frameworks to identify and address challenges related to data collection, emissions accounting, and reporting.
