Civics Analyst, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in trust and safety, risk management, public policy, government, international relations, information ecosystems, or other related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience managing rapid-response situations, escalations, or crisis management effectively.
  • Experience preparing briefing materials and communicating complex topics clearly to executive audiences.
  • Experience analyzing domestic and international civics issues to understand their potential impact on a global technology company.
  • Understanding of the online information ecosystem, including abuse vectors, safety policy, and societal discourse, to inform risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a changing environment with excellent critical thinking skills.

About the job

As a Civics Analyst, you will be a trusted adviser on a global team, proactively identifying and remediating issues, managing risks, engaging executives, and communicating effectively. You’re a big-picture thinker with a passion for user safety, committed to protecting the integrity of online civic discourse.

In this role, you will take several critical projects related to civics in the Americas, simultaneously driving the team's agenda forward. You will have stakeholder management and cross-company collaboration—specifically across Trust and Safety and with Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), Legal, Communications (Comms), Regulatory Affairs (RegAffairs), product teams, and others long-term planning, and executive engagement are critical to ensure that election integrity is proactively managed. You will play a critical role in leading and shaping cross-company workstreams, synthesizing and preparing briefing materials, and ensuring flawless execution in collaboration with partner teams. Your key responsibilities include helping to shape our public communications and leading our civics response in the Americas.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$205,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional and product partners to drive the end-to-end cross-company process around key civic events with attention to detail.
  • Lead cross-company initiatives and working groups, partnering with Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), Legal, Product, Communications (Comms), Marketing, and Security to drive a cohesive process around key civic events related to the United States (US) and EMEA.
  • Track relevant workstreams, action items, and follow-ups to ensure appropriate next steps are owned and executed.
  • Analyze geopolitical developments and emerging technologies, such as Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), to anticipate impact on civics features while developing risk profiles and running scenario-planning exercises and tabletop simulations to improve company-wide readiness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during escalations and crisis events, providing guidance and working with the incident team to ensure rapid and effective resolution.
