Senior Software Engineer, Bluetooth, Better Together

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in developing software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in Bluetooth stack development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in designing/building with other Bluetooth stack architectures.
  • Experience in designing APIs and working on frameworks.
  • Experience with coding in C++, Java, Rust.
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative and troubleshooting skills.

The team owns the Core Bluetooth technology for Android and we are responsible for helping unlock magical experiences within the Android ecosystem.

In this role, you will work on the leading Bluetooth technologies, integration into android system and help scale that across all of Android.
You will lead and influence the design of the android platform stack and influence it’s design across first-party and third-party products.Android is Google’s open-source mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Lead new features and technologies within the Bluetooth domain along with proposing technical strategy.
  • Design, implement and maintain Android Bluetooth Connectivity stack for both first-party and third-party devices.
  • Collaborate with internal, external and partner teams to refine and define the Bluetooth stack and scaling it to the industry.
  • Help to build the next generation of Application programming interface (APIs) and library for first-party and third-party developers.
  • Partner and collaborate with related engineering teams, product management, and program management to ensure the development of solutions in a timely manner.
