While some of the actions won’t work right away, we are working to support more coming soon. You will be able to switch back to Google Assistant in app settings.
Gemini opt in is rolling out to select devices and countries - opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

I've been an android user my whole life and have never had a huge issue with Google assistant doing the things I ask. Recently though, I've noticed that I have to repeat actions several times in order for it to register. For example, I'll say "hey google, turn off flashlight" and it responds with "turning off flashlight" but never actually turns it off until I repeat it 2 or 3 times. It's getting really annoying and makes me want to start thinking about switching to apple! Please fix this!!!!!!!

It used to use this app a lot. Now, when I ask a question, it will display the answer but does not read aloud. Which is extremely frustrating while driving. I have read all the 'help' articles, and I tried all the suggested trouble shooting. Uninstalled & reinstalled. Nothing is correcting the issue. Very disappointing. Might be time to switch to Apple.

Absolutely awful and horrid the way Google has totally dismembered the useful functionality in order to replace it with Gemini, which does not provide. Basic assistant functions as setting appointments, providing search results that don't need ai, for example "what time does the debate begin?" Gemini takes over and reminds you it's a language modeling app and can't help you. Now, there is absolute confusion and wrong information about using both together.
